You will be assessed using a range of methods such as practical tasks and written coursework within a portfolio of evidence. This portfolio will be used to determine your grade.
This course starts on 18th September. Classes are every Wednesday between 1.15pm and 4.30pm for 12 weeks, term-time only.
There is no requirement for you to have achieved any qualifications or units prior to undertaking this qualification. A reasonable standard of computing skills will be required.
Level 1 Award in Website Design (Gateway Qualification)
Have you ever considered making your own website? Does your organisation or small business want to expand its online presence? In this course you will develop the knowledge and understanding of the core areas within website design and learn how to create your own website.
You will learn how to create a simple website using tools and techniques to add functionality, navigation buttons and hyperlinks. You will also develop skills in planning and designing a website and once complete you will review the finished website and make suggestions for improvement.
You will develop knowledge and understanding of the core areas of website design.

Part-time courses are only available for learners who are 19 years old and above. You may not have to pay for this course if you are employed but earn below £23,400 a year, or if you are unemployed and receive Job Seekers Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance or Universal Credit. You will need to provide evidence of your eligibility which will be checked at enrolment.
This course is funded by South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) and/or West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA). You must be living in the South or West Yorkshire regions to qualify for funding.
