Level 2 Certificate for Dog Grooming Assistants
Based at our Wigfield Farm campus, this qualification is ideal if you wish to enter the dog grooming industry for personal or professional reasons. You will learn dog grooming techniques that include preparation, bathing, drying and basic grooming techniques, and on completion you will be able to work under supervision in a dog grooming salon.

Please note: It would be beneficial to have access to different varieties of dogs as you will get trained on the different hair types.

This course costs £546. There may be funding available for this course – please see the drop-down option below for more details. You must also be living in the South Yorkshire or West Yorkshire region. There is also an introductory course which must be completed which costs £85. There is no funding available for the introductory course, so all learners must pay this fee.

Part-time courses are only available for learners who are 19 years old and above. You may not have to pay for this course if you are employed but earn below £23,400 a year, or if you are unemployed and receive Job Seekers Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance or Universal Credit. You will need to provide evidence of your eligibility which will be checked at enrolment.
This course is funded by South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) and/or West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA). You must be living in the South or West Yorkshire regions to qualify for funding.
