You should have either completed the Photography for Beginners course or have prior practical experience of photography.

You will achieve

Although no formal qualification will be achieved you will achieve invaluable experience and be awarded with a Barnsley College certificate.

Course overview

How do they snap that perfect photo? Want to learn how? Our Photography Intermediate course could be for you!

Learn the most important functions and techniques of digital photography including Composition, Rule of Thirds, your DSLR and Lenses, Crop sensors and settings, Lighting and arrangement.

Getting you one step closer to taking the perfect shot, learn how inspiring and fun capturing that unforgettable moment can be! You can use the skills learned on this course and apply them immediately in your daily life or even begin a career in professional photography.

The course will also cover elements of post photo editing techniques using the appropriate industry standard software, such as Adobe Photoshop.

Course content

You will study the following:

  • Exploring Camera settings -making use of special features (eg custom functions, Noise reduction, Bracketing options, etc )
  • Flash Settings (TTL, 1st/2nd Curtain, multiple, etc)
  • Low light/Night Photography
  • Painting with light
  • Specific techniques (eg Photographing glass, Freezing motion, Timelapse, Multiple exposure)
  • Demonstrations of Tethered photography, Macro photography.
  • Editing in Photoshop/Camera Raw
  • Image themes, styles and composition

A camera will be provided if you do not have your own.
