You will be assessed using a range of methods such as practical tasks and written coursework within a portfolio of evidence.
This is a one-year course that will start again in September 2024. Classes are for one day a week.
There is no requirement for you to have undertaken a specific qualification, but you should be able to demonstrate the skills and ability to study at Level 3 and a reasonable standard of computing skills.
GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or equivalent will also provide a good foundation for success.
Level 3 Certificate in Software Development
This is a modern qualification, developed alongside consultants with years of industry knowledge, which will prepare you to either progress into higher education or prepare you for employment within the digital and creative industries. You can also progress into areas that require specific digital and IT skills within Software Development.
Through this course you will understand project management concepts and the processes and tools used by organisations to manage IT projects. You will learn about project management methodologies and use project management software to plan an IT project, track progress, and review the outcomes to determine project success.

After successful completion of the course, you could move on to Higher Education, an apprenticeship or employment.
This course costs £1645. This course is eligible for the Free Courses for Jobs funding which means you can study this for free if you meet the eligibility criteria. Please see the drop-down option below for more details. If you are not eligible for funding then you may be able to apply for an Advacned Learner Loan to cover the cost of the course.
