About the event
Join Barnsley College and the CBI for a breakfast event on Unlocking Local Talent: the role of skills in Levelling Up.
The government published the Levelling Up White Paper back in February with aims to improve access to opportunities and address regional disparity through building vibrant local labour markets. In addition to this, future changes in UK labour demand will see mass reskilling and the transition of around three million workers to a new occupation by 2030. We know that South Yorkshire businesses have an ambitious vision for the economy of the region, and skills are a hugely important part of that.
But in order to support the development of the right skills for the region and increase social mobility and prosperity, business needs to understand what the barriers are and how they can play their part.
Join CBI’s Head of Education & Skills, Robert West, for a unique insight into what Skills policy means for you and share your ideas for how business can contribute.
