Our first cohort of Business T Level students celebrate placement progress

Our first group of Level 3 Management and Administration T Level students have now embarked on the placement element of their course at an impressive range of businesses across the area.

The T Level programme is designed with employers to give students the skills required in industry through developing the core knowledge and skills which are needed for a range of management and administration occupations.

“I would say it’s preparing me well for after my course because I want to go into finance, and they ask me what I want to do so then she can focus my tasks around that. They’re really interested in me.”

An essential component of the T Level is completing 45 days or more on a work placement. Students have secured placements with many local businesses so far this year including TWIGGS, Barnsley Council, Berneslai Homes, local schools and Whitshaw Builders.

Student Abi Marshall set out on her placement in November last year and reflected on her progress with us.

She said: “I’m on placement at Station House Community Association in Thurnscoe, it’s been really good, I’m really trusted by them to do my work.

“I’ve been updating the website and even learning how to build a website too, so that’s been really valuable.

“It’s a small team, there’s the CEO and another manager, and I have to work with both for different things so that’s really good for me.

“I would say it’s preparing me well for after my course because I want to go into finance, and they ask me what I want to do so then she can focus my tasks around that. They’re really interested in me.”
