Entry requirements

You will require a AAT Foundation Certificate in Accounting (Level 2) to apply for this course.

You will achieve

AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting (Level 3)

Course overview

The AAT Accounting qualification gives you the relevant and practical skills to do a wide range of accounting and finance jobs. In this qualification you will master more complex accounting disciplines including financial processes, advanced bookkeeping, final accounts and ethical practices for accountants.

If you successfully complete this qualification, you can apply for AAT associate bookkeeping membership and achieve professional AATQB status.

 

 

Course content

You will study the following units:

  • Business Awareness – This unit provides you with an understanding of the business, its environment and the influence that this has on an organisation’s structure, the role of its accounting function and its performance.
  • Financial Accounting: Preparing Financial Statements – This unit provides you with the skills required to produce profit or loss statements, statements of financial position for sole traders, and partnerships using a trial balance.
  • Tax Processes for Businesses – This unit explores tax processes that influence the daily operations of businesses and is designed to develop your skills in understanding, preparing, and submitting Value Added Tax (VAT) returns to HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC).
  • Management Accounting Techniques – This unit provides you with the knowledge and skills needed to understand the role of management accounting in an organisation, and how organisations use such information to aid decision making.

You will be assessed by computerised based examinations after the completion of each unit.

You will need to provide your own calculator, text book and writing materials.

AAT Level 4 Professional Diploma in Accounting.

How much does the course cost?

£1,995 (exam fee included). This course may be FREE to you subject to eligibility criteria. You will need to register with AAT. A cost will be payable directly to AAT and this will give you access to study support resources for 12 months or until you complete the qualification, whichever comes first. If you’re undertaking an Access to Higher Education (HE) course and then go on to complete an HE qualification, the outstanding balance of your Advanced Learner Loan will be written off, once you have fully completed both courses.
