Online event for employers during National Apprenticeship Week 2021

Employer Open Event Feb 2021

Our Business Development team will host an online event for employers this week. Our online Employer Open Event on Friday 12 February at 2.30pm is part of our celebration of National Apprenticeship Week (8-14 February).

The event will showcase our full workforce development offer which includes apprenticeships, Higher Education, short courses, T Levels (Technical qualifications) and industry placements. Guests will find out about current courses, benefits to businesses, the recruitment process, funding and incentives plus case studies from the College’s current partners.

“We are looking forward to welcoming employers to this online event in celebration of National Apprenticeship Week. It’s the ideal opportunity to showcase the significant value that apprenticeships deliver to businesses, and also to introduce our broader portfolio of training provision for business growth, workforce development and recovery from the economic impact of the pandemic.”

We have also launched our online Virtual Apprenticeship Hub, featuring information, guidance and resources for employers and prospective apprentices.

We support thousands of employers across Yorkshire and even more beyond, with a portfolio of training programmes and qualifications which is designed to support the entire workforce development strategy.

Over 70 apprenticeship pathways are on offer at various levels, serving a multitude of job roles and sectors from accountancy, construction and beauty therapy to teaching and warehousing and logistics. Historically, the College has enjoyed apprenticeship success rates above the national average.

Apprenticeships allow young people to develop their potential and enter the workforce earlier, whilst employers benefit from access to the next generation of talent. The qualifications are also a popular way to upskill an existing workforce, including employees who are more experienced or qualified and may study at higher levels.

Helen Weatherstone, Head of Business Development at Barnsley College, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming employers to this online event in celebration of National Apprenticeship Week.
