Students equipped for the future thanks to TV presenter

Group of students and TV presenter

Our students were given the tools to speak their best with confidence-enhancing workshops from TV presenter, Aaron Roach Bridgeman and Loud Speaker.

Over three days, more than 1,000 students attended Loud Speaker’s half-day workshops, with Aaron hosting day one and motivational speaker, Richard Allen Campbell, hosting the rest.

“The Loud Speaker session will help me in later life. I am now a lot more confident with speaking about myself and this will benefit me when I write my CV and interview for jobs.”

The TV presenter and documentary maker, who has interviewed some of the world’s biggest names including Usain Bolt, Lebron James and Nicki Minaj, held the workshop which provided our young people with the tools to excel and make the most of every opportunity they encounter.

Loud Speaker’s motivational and relatable workshops support students at a time when they are transforming their career paths by focusing on public speaking, confidence building, problem-solving and leadership skills, to raise their ambition.

With studies indicating that students with more confidence are more likely to learn, challenge themselves and achieve academic success, these workshops ensure that these College students are equipped with the necessary skills to succeed.

Logan Doughty, a Level 3 Electrical Design and Development T Level student, attended one of Aaron’s sessions. Logan said: “Arron’s session was absolutely amazing; he was really passionate and enthusiastic about the topic which allowed me to learn a lot about how to speak in front of people.

“The session from Loud Speaker will help me in later life. I am now a lot more confident with speaking about myself and this will benefit me when I write my CV and interview for jobs.”

Aaron Roach Bridgeman, added: “Days like today are really important; it’s amazing to see the insightfulness in students so young as well as being part of motivating and empowering the young people of Barnsley.

“I think sometimes young people need to be told that they do have greatness in them; I see it manifest throughout the session on their faces and in their minds – that’s why we do this!”
