This course commences in September 2024 and runs for one year.
If you don’t currently meet these entry requirements, you maybe able to study a Level 1 Foundation Learning course.
You will achieve:
Beauty Therapy Technical Certificate Level 1
Other qualifications and participation certificates where appropriate
This course is an introduction to beauty therapy. You will learn the skills required to assist Beauty Therapists in their role and carry out treatments within a commercial salon environment.
On this course, you will start to build the practical skills and knowledge that you need to start a career in the hair and beauty industry.

You will be required to purchase an essential equipment kit, make up kit, uniform, shoes and text book before starting the course which are ordered using the order forms which will be provided at the interview.

On completion of the programme you may wish to progress to Level 2 Beauty Therapy Level 2 Nail Services, Level 2 Beauty Therapist Apprenticeship or Level 2 Hairdressing.

Full-time Barnsley College students aged 16-18 years old do not have to pay tuition fees.

Having good English and Maths qualifications are important for most careers and we want to give you the help you need to succeed.
If you are aged 16 – 19 and don’t already have a grade C/4 or above in GCSE English and Maths they will automatically be included in your study programme. If you want to work towards higher grades in English and Maths we can help you do that too.
Need a higher level Maths qualification? We offer a Level 3 Mathematical Studies (Core Maths).
