Welcome to Barnsley College!

We hope that you are enjoying your first days with us and we wish you a very happy year.

Of course! Everyone has access to pastoral support from the Tutorial Team and Curriculum staff. If you have an Educational Health and Care Plan (EHCP) you will also get support from the Additional Learning Support (ALS) Team.

You will be invited to have a chat with a member of the Additional Learning Support (ALS) Team where you will get the chance to talk about the best way in which we can support you. You will also have your own support plan which will be available for any staff member who works with you.

The College has a central Safeguarding Team who are committed to ensuring that any of your safeguarding concerns are taken seriously. Every department has their own safeguarding representative who you can talk to if you are ever worries about your safety.

The Learning Curve provides access to many types of learning materials, including books, DVDs, CDs, e-book readers, newspapers and journals, computers and laptops. Alongside this traditional library stock there is access to electronic information resources such as online full text newspapers, electronic books and more!

Absolutely! Our iTrust scheme can provide you with support and mentoring as well as access to a grant of up to £250.

No problem! Barnsley College’s Enterprising Futures Fund (BCEF) could provide you with grants to fund once in a lifetime work opportunities.

Previously, our grant has taken students to Camp America, allowed them to work in animal sanctuary’s across the world and given them the opportunity to shadow doctors in our local hospitals.

The Learner Support Fund (LSF) is a term that we use at College for the bursaries that are available to students over the age of 16 who meet the eligibility criteria for financial support towards the cost of travel, food, course essential items and childcare.

These funds are provided to College from the government and help to assist the removal of financial barriers to learning.

Yes. All of your catering facilities on each site will be open however, they will be offering a restricted menu on a pre-order and take-away basis only.

You can pre-order in person by visiting the dedicated till point in your nearest café, calling 01226 216 434 or emailing cateringservices@barnsley.ac.uk. You must make your lunch orders by 10.45am.

If you choose to email the café please remember to include your name, number, location, time of collection/delivery, items required and payment type in your message.
